How to Cleanse or Clean Crystals at Home

I don't know how long you have used your crystal, but one thing I know for sure is that they need cleansing.

These little sparklies do incredible work that sometimes we don't even realize. They work in various ways that sometimes they can choose to let us know or not.

Sometimes, we give our crystals to admirers to have a glance and a touch of their spectacular beauty.

That means that they pick up some negative vibes, bad luck, and sometimes even oils that might get in the crystal's way of working.

When you wear your gems or meditate with them or use them in a way that is supposed to bring you some great value, they pick up a little energy that is supposed to be washed off or cleansed.

Leaving your crystals uncleaned or cleaned is similar to applying beautification oil on your skin, yet you haven't done any showering.

In your sense, it might appear cool, but in the real sense, it's not.

The dirt will eventually start showing by some possible means, and it will paint a bad picture of you.

You wouldn't want that, would you?

This article will show methods you can use to cleanse, clean, and recharge your crystals at home.

Salt Cleansing

Salt has many important roles in our lives. Salt is believed to cut off any negative energy on your body, in your house, or on an object.

Shamans use salt in many healing processes, and by pastors do too when excising demons from their victims.

Salt can be used in prayers to ask for blessings from God. Believers add salt to the water after a silent prayer which symbolizes the scattered salt over the water by Prophet Elisha from the Bible.

To cleanse your crystal with salt, you will first warm your water and put it into the bowl.

Drop 2-3 tablespoons of salt into your water, and carefully insert your crystal into the water one at a time if they are many.

Wait for around 1 hour to 3 hours and pick them out, get a clean cloth and wipe off any sign of water on their surfaces.

Store them safely and use them again any time you want.

This act makes your crystals brand new for working than before cleansing.

Burry the Crystal Under the Ground

Crystals spend billions of years under the ground, where they get moulded into such outstanding objects.

The power and information they pass onto us were given to them deep underneath the earth. So putting a stone back in the ground would charge it and enhance its functionality.

Everyone needs a break from everything around them, and it is during that break you get to refuel your spirit and get more courage or passion or reasons to continue.

Like people, crystals need breaks and time to recharge, and through this time, they get to oscillate off the negative energy they might have picked from us.

To get your crystal into this cleansing method, you will have to look for a safe ground where no one might pose a risk of your stone disappearing.

This could be in your compound or any place you consider safe.

Dig a few inches into the ground, and put your crystals into the hole you dug. Don't include anything like a piece of cloth or any carrier bag. Just put the stone completely in its naked state.

Burry the stones and wait for one day. Under them up and clean them with warm water and a clean cloth.

Store your stones for future use.

Heat the Stone

Heating is one less-known way of cleansing a crystal, but it doesn't work for synthetic stones.

Fire is a destroyer; we all that, but we also know that it can't destroy natural crystals. At least not the home kind of heat.

Someone told me that fire could destroy anything, whether physical or spiritual and for sure, and I don't doubt that at all.

This method is the fastest way of cleansing gems.

Heating your crystal will require tweezers, a fire source, and cold water to cool the stone.

Hold your crystal using a tweezer and burn it on the heat source for 2-4 minutes. Ensure it is a long tweezer or any gem-holding material to prevent the holder from conducting heat.

Drop it into some cold water and use a clean cloth to wipe off the smoke that might have stuck on it.

Store your stone for the following purposes.

Use other Healing Crystal to Heal your Stone

In the world of crystal, there is no end to wonderful phenomena. These small shapeless substances can amaze you in countless ways that you wouldn't expect.

And selenite is one of them; this crystal has the energy to clean other crystals.

It does so by just putting in contact with your stone for a couple of minutes, and your stone will be fully cleansed from whatever bad energy it was carrying.

The suitable selenite for this special duty is the selenite towers which are hand-shaped skyscraper selenites.

Running Water

In this cleansing method, water from streams is the most suitable. Water is a cleaning substance in our lives.

It washes off visible and invisible dirt from ourselves and so to crystals. The reason streams are the best for this task is that they contain natural running water.

And, since we discussed it earlier, natural water will put your stone back in its natural state.

Note: Water cleansing is not for every kind of stone since some crystals react differently with water. Some crystals might dissolve or crack when put in water.

Some stones contain minerals that are vulnerable to rusting, and some release toxins when exposed to water. Crystals with five and below hardness on the Mohs scale don't deserve to be put in water.

So be sure to check what kind of stone you have before putting it in the water.

Brown Rice Method

Rice is an absorbing agent, and it is used in many ways to absorb substances like water from a smartphone. That is if your phone fell into the water.

Brown rice can absorb any negative or worn-out energy within a crystal.

Bury your crystal into a bowl full of brown rice for 24 hours and get it out after that. Please dispose of the rice as it is a waste since it absorbed bad energy.

How to recharge your crystals at home.

Recharging a stone is the act of refuelling it for better functionality. This means that you will most likely get the best from your crystal.

There are quite a few ways you can do this, and that is through moonlight or sunlight.

Gems are natural substances that need natural energy for better functioning. You wouldn't think of pouring scotch into the fuel tank of your car when you run out of fuel.

There is the right recommended fuel for your car, which could be diesel or petrol.

Gems need the sun or moon for recharging.

To sun recharge your crystal, you will have to place it by the window or any place where sunshine directly hits it.

This will rejuvenate your crystal in hours.

Moon cleansing is quite similar to sun cleansing. All you need is an open place where the moonlight can reach your crystal, and everything will be good.

How often should you clean or cleanse your stones?

This depends on how much you want to clean them because only you know how often you use them.

But there are times most people think it is right to clean or cleanse your gems. Most people recommend cleaning their crystals once or twice a month.

That is to a normal mind, but if you have done some significant healing with your crystal, it is always good to cleanse it right away.

By this I mean, when you notice that something horrible has healed after using your crystal, it is a good idea to cleanse it right away.

How to tell if your stone needs cleansing.

Mostly the stone feels heavy; this is one straightforward way of a  stone signalling to you that it needs to get cleansed.

The owner tends to feel the heaviness every time they hold it.

Another way a stone asks for cleansing is by becoming dull. The brilliance disappears, and you can easily tell that it is less attractive.

The stone becomes cold even if you touch it. Crystals tend to give heat when it connects to you, and it is one way of telling that it is in the right mode to begin working.

So, when it doesn't give out any heat, it is clear that it is filled with plenty of impurities.

What is the best method to cleanse crystals?

All listed methods are great for cleansing your stone, but some of them work well for you whenever you use them.

I believe a method that doesn't give you a lot of difficulties when you use it is the right one you should go for.
